Is there such a thing as tasty gluten free desserts?
Right now while I'm writing, my mind is deciding what to make for dessert tonight. I really feel like being indulgent tonight, not the kind of night for a chocolate chip cookie but a rich, creamy dark chocolate mouse encased in a chocolate fluffy texture kind of night. Yes fudge cake it is for tonight!
The ONLY problem with the above mental conversation is my personal quest to lose my "mommy pouch". To be completely honest I have had the pouch before I had the children. I am determined to get rid of it though, in my quest to treat my body like the glorious temple it is. In the past I was heavy for my 5'6" frame. Considered obese by medical standards because my BMI was over 33%. I am happy to say that I exercise and changed my eating habits to reduce my weight and now I am in normal range.
My issue is I LOVE desserts! In my quest to eat healthier, I realized I had to change or I would end up back where I started (not an option). So what were my options? Well after some serious trial and error, I found that I enjoyed gluten free desserts. Why gluten free? I do not have any food allergies but what I found with these simple recipes is that they are all natural, and have low glycemic indexes.
there were very few options that were truly decadent… and good for you too.
Gluten free desserts were the answer I was looking for! Healthy, delicious and still had the satisfying richness without the calories or pounds of sugar that would wreck my body. I heard a choir of angels when I realized I didn't have to give up desserts. Maybe I just imagined the heavenly soundtrack but I was happy none the less.
My personal favorite is the Decadent Dark Chocolate Pudding. The cookbook has over 50 recipes that are healthy and decadent. It was really eye opening to learn about the alternative ingredients that went right in sync with a healthy lifestyle.
I think I will be creating an article on each ingredient to add to my new dessert revolution.

I must try a gluten free dessert. I have a weakness for sweet treats, so this may be the answer for me too!
