gluten free dessert that kids can make
This is a great treat for after school or if you are feeling indulgent and want to satisfy your sweet tooth.
A great plus to this dessert is that is has simple ingredients and is simple to make.
Ingredients
2 cups vanilla pudding (homemade or prepared from package is fine)
2 cups chocolate pudding
paper cups or ice pop molds
Instant pudding works great for this treat and cuts down on prep time.
Directions
If younger children are involved, I suggest starting from a packaged pudding recipe.
- Prepare pudding as directed.
- Divide one flavor of pudding into cups or molds. Carefully add second flavor into each cup. Do not mix together. This will give you the two tone look after the pops are frozen.
- Insert wooden sticks into each cup. If pudding is thick should stand on their own. If pudding is not firm enough to hold sticks upright, place plastic wrap on top of each cup and insert the wooden sticks through the plastic wrap. The plastic wrap will support the sticks until frozen.
- Place in freezer for 3-4 hours.
- Enjoy your gluten free dessert.
This is a great simple, easy to make treat everyone in the family will enjoy. For some extra fun after preparing the pudding, split your vanilla pudding into smaller bowls and add food coloring. Follow the rest of the instructions above and you will have colorful pops!
NOTE: To be sure that your pudding mix is gluten free and free of cross contamination, read the label. Kraft states that their pudding mixes are gluten free and there are specialty brands that specifically make gluten free pudding.
